What should a new client know about working with you?
Tamieko's style of therapy is holistic, collaborative. and individualized. She utilizes Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) as the main treatment because it is effective for treating Mood Disorders, Anxiety Disorders, and ADHD symptoms. She does incorporate other evidenced-based therapies as well depending on need and best practices. More than anything her goal is to help you reduce and manage your symptoms to live a healthier and more fulfilling life, and to provide EDUCATION, AWARENESS, and EMPOWERMENT!
What is your typical process for working with clients?
In talk therapy we will focus on your problems and work together to develop the most effective treatment plan. Patients will "work the plan" outside of session by actively completing homework whether it's written assignments, exposure, or application and practice of taught skills. Your healing and help comes from you being an active participant in your treatment. I will offer a safe place to talk and help you work on your stuff!
