Dr. Tanya I. Alonso is originally from New Jersey. Her interest in the field of psychology began early on as she pursued her various degrees in the field, including earning her Doctor of Psychology from Carlos Albizu University in Miami. Dr. Alonso’s clinical experience extends to individual psychotherapy across the lifespan for individuals who have suffered from various mental health issues accompanied by an assortment of general medical conditions. She has also conducted psycho-educational testing for children and adolescents, psycho-diagnostic evaluations of adults, and dementia evaluations for the geriatric population. Dr. Alonso considers herself to be a generalist of sorts. Her research interests include, but are not limited to, obesity and its relationship with psychological and medical outcomes, psychopharmacology, as well as attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder. Her current goal is to continue growing as a clinician and to keep providing individual therapy to the diverse population of South Florida. On a more personal level, Dr. Alonso enjoys watching the latest movies and shows, as well as listening to music with her husband, two small children, and her dogs: a Chihuahua named Beauty and a mutt named Bruno.

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge.
