Getting to know Tara Gajewski

I earned my Master’s in Social Work from Sacred Heart University. I am a dedicated therapist who works with individuals navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, and everyday stressors. I understand that these experiences can feel overwhelming, and I strive to meet each person with empathy, respect, and a genuine desire to help them find clarity and balance. My clinical approach integrates evidence-based practices, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing. Through these approaches, I help clients develop practical coping strategies, build emotional awareness, and create meaningful, lasting change. I believe therapy should be a collaborative and empowering process. My goal is to provide a safe, supportive space where you can be yourself without judgment, explore your thoughts and emotions openly, and work toward your personal goals at your own pace. Whether you’re facing a major life transition or simply feeling stuck, I am here to support you in building resilience, gaining insight, and moving forward with greater confidence and purpose.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My approach to therapy is grounded in a client-centered philosophy, where your unique experiences, values, and goals guide the work we do together. I offer a flexible and collaborative process, integrating talk therapy with evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). I believe that therapy is not a one-size-fits-all experience, and I strive to tailor our work to best support your individual needs. My role is to help you explore your thoughts and emotions, acknowledge and validate your experiences, and support you in making choices that feel authentic and cohesive to who you are.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My process with clients begins with building a strong therapeutic relationship grounded in trust, respect, and authenticity. I strive to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel comfortable sharing their thoughts, feelings, and experiences openly. As our work progresses, I focus on helping clients identify and build upon their existing strengths while exploring areas for growth. Together, we work toward increased self-awareness and insight, always keeping in mind each client’s unique identity, values, and goals. I aim to support clients in navigating life’s challenges in a way that feels aligned with who they are, fostering resilience, empowerment, and meaningful personal growth
