AL
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with more than 21 years of clinical experience helping children, teens, and adults navigate anxiety, trauma, and relationship challenges. I am licensed to provide therapy in Alabama, Mississippi, Florida, Ohio, and Nebraska and offer telehealth services for clients located in states where I am licensed. My work is rooted in attachment-focused and trauma-informed therapy. Many of the individuals I work with feel overwhelmed by anxiety, stuck in repeating relationship patterns, or are trying to make sense of difficult past experiences. I also work with parents who are seeking support for a child who may be struggling emotionally or behaviorally. In therapy, I focus on helping clients understand the patterns that may be keeping them stuck while building practical tools for emotional regulation, healthier relationships, and personal growth. I integrate evidence-based approaches including cognitive behavioral therapy, attachment-based therapy, mindfulness, and nervous system regulation. My goal is to create a supportive and collaborative environment where clients feel comfortable exploring their experiences, gaining insight, and developing skills that support lasting change.

What should a new client know about working with you?

When working with me, clients can expect a supportive, non-judgmental space where they can openly discuss their experiences and concerns. Therapy is a collaborative process, and I work alongside clients to help them better understand their thoughts, emotions, and behavioral patterns. Many people come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or unsure how to move forward. Together, we work to identify the underlying factors contributing to those challenges while developing practical tools for emotional regulation, stress management, and healthier relationships. I strive to create a calm and compassionate environment where clients feel heard, respected, and supported throughout the therapeutic process.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

The first session typically focuses on understanding your concerns, background, and goals for therapy. This helps us develop a clear understanding of what you are experiencing and how therapy can best support you. From there, sessions focus on identifying patterns, building coping strategies, and developing skills that support emotional balance and long-term growth. Depending on the client’s needs, therapy may include exploring past experiences, learning tools for anxiety or stress management, improving communication and relationship patterns, or developing strategies for emotional regulation. My goal is to create a collaborative process where clients feel actively involved in their care and leave sessions with greater insight and practical strategies they can use in their daily lives.
