Getting to know Tara Sheffield

It is my desire to work beside you to discover your truth in a safe and nurturing environment. My goal is to help you work through your emotions as we navigate traumatic experiences that may be holding you back from positive growth and uncovering your authentic self. I will also support you in developing the skills and solutions that positively impact your interpersonal relationships and empower you to live your best life. I use Mindfulness, Solution-Focused Therapy, Crisis Intervention, and other modalities tailored to meet the unique needs of my clients. I hold a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Dallas Baptist University. My previous counseling experience includes working with families and individuals to overcome depression, grief, trauma, and adjustment issues. I have also supported individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder in developing social skills, as well as worked with parents of children with special needs in K-12 school districts and private settings. Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
