You've found a mother, wife, friend, and real person here to help. I'm here to help children and teens cope with life’s challenges while becoming individuals who recognize their worth, as well as parents needing support. You're more than a diagnosis, so let's work toward growth, leading to a life lived fully. My focus I work with parents struggling with managing toddler tantrums, teen defiance, or any other childhood stage (let's be honest-they're all difficult!) and children/teens with big emotions. I don't shy away from traumatic experiences or big scary thoughts and behaviors; I'd love to be able to support you and/or your child through any season. My approach I lean on my appreciation of children/teens as whole small humans to tailor each session- whether that be a comfy space and kind listening ear or me being firmly honest and holding boundaries. Leading with (and expecting) openness and honesty, I like to bring books, art/activities, and psychoeducation to session. All can expect skills for home use. My communication style You can expect a relatable, honest, and direct therapist when we work together. Knowing when to hold back and when to push forward is a dance I do well. Always supportive and cheering you on, we'll work together to create change. My journey to mental healthcare Becoming a child/teen/parenting therapist sprouted from years in involuntary inpatient hospitals and helping clients navigate the mental health court system. I want to help younger generations avoid ever having to endure that journey, so we get to tackle big problems from the start, together. My goals for you Working towards realistic and achievable goals, and seeing that progress, is a favorite part of therapy for me. We will create, track, and crush goals together (or we'll adjust them if needed, so they get crushed at some point!), then create new ones. We are all ever evolving, so let's watch that change together.
