What should a new client know about working with you?

Working with me means entering a space where you are seen as a whole person — not just a diagnosis or a problem to fix. I bring over 12 years of experience supporting children, teens, young adults, adults, and older adults navigating anxiety, trauma, life transitions, cultural identity, parenting challenges, and emotional overwhelm. As a Nigerian, a parent, and someone who has personally lived through anxiety, I understand how culture, family expectations, faith, and real-life stress shape mental health. Clients often tell me they feel understood quickly because I listen deeply, honor their story, and meet them with compassion rather than judgment. My approach is collaborative and practical. I use evidence-based therapies including CBT, TF-CBT, EMDR, mindfulness, and motivational interviewing to help you: understand your patterns process painful experiences safely build coping skills that actually work in daily life reconnect with your strengths and sense of purpose You can expect sessions that balance empathy with gentle challenge. I will walk alongside you — helping you move at your own pace while encouraging growth and healing. Most importantly, you don’t have to have everything figured out before you start. Showing up as you are is enough.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

A typical session with me is calm, supportive, and guided by your needs. We begin by checking in on how you’ve been feeling since our last session and what feels most important for you to focus on that day. There is no pressure to share everything at once — we move at a pace that feels safe and manageable for you. Sessions often include gentle conversation, reflection, and practical tools to help you better understand your thoughts, emotions, and patterns. Depending on your goals, we may use approaches such as CBT, TF-CBT, EMDR, mindfulness, or motivational interviewing to process experiences, build coping skills, and strengthen emotional resilience. I pay close attention to your cultural background, family dynamics, faith, and life experiences, recognizing how these shape your healing journey. My role is to listen deeply, offer guidance, and support growth while honoring your values. Each session ends with grounding, reflection, or a small takeaway you can practice between sessions. You are not expected to be “fixed” — just present. Healing unfolds one step at a time.
