What should a new client know about working with you?

"Hello, I'm Terri. Moving through day-to-day life can sometimes seem almost confounding; like 'wow, how did life become so difficult!' Experiencing major life transitions may sometimes be at the forefront; although, oftentimes there is no obvious explanation for the overwhelming feelings that can completely upset life balance and emotional well-being. Sometimes the tools that were effective in managing life stressors in the past just no longer seem to work. I invite you to schedule a session with me and look forward to assisting you in working through whatever is challenging or interfering with your being the best you and 'living your very best life.' I decided upon a career change in 2006 from Information Systems to Mental Health Counseling, earning my Master's from Walden University in 2010. My journey into mental health counseling has been deeply fulfilling, allowing me to combine my analytical skills with my passion for helping others. I have engaged in live theatre and dance, love music, and any form of art which helps me to see the many shades of gray in each client. The therapeutic approaches I rely upon most include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy, DBT/Mindfulness, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Trauma-Informed Care. These methods allow me to tailor my approach to fit your unique needs and help you navigate through life's complexities. I specialize in working with individuals facing addiction, anger management issues, anxiety, bipolar disorder, depression, family and intimate relationship challenges, life transitions, multicultural and diversity issues, spirituality, and trauma. Whether you're dealing with a specific issue or just feeling overwhelmed by life, I am here to support you.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

In our sessions, you can expect a compassionate, non-judgmental space where we can explore your thoughts and feelings together. My goal is to help you uncover your strengths and develop new strategies to cope with life's challenges. I believe in the power of therapy to transform lives and am committed to helping you achieve your goals. If you're ready to take the first step towards a more balanced and fulfilling life, I encourage you to reach out and schedule a session with me. Let's work together to help you become the best version of yourself."

Working with Terri Carter my therapist is awesome. She is very knowledgeable and attentive. I'm seeing lots of progress, and I'm looking forward to seeing more growth within myself.
The procedures signup and find a therapist in my area was very easy. Local Therapists reached out to me. Their professional abilities and past experiences were included for me to start an evaluation between those available. During my treatment, I received questionnaires which forced me to self-evaluate. My therapist also gave me homework to do more reviews of how I am handling life and what I think about myself. However, customer service is not easy to get on the phone to for questions and concerns.
Terri is a great addition to my metal health. She is a good listener and helps to build and guide me towards making decisions towards a better future.
