Psychotherapist
5290 Overpass Rd, #220, Santa Barbara, CA
Hi, I’m Terri, a seasoned therapist who deeply values the connections I forge with my clients as I help them feel better, heal from their pasts, and create better lives. I am trained in EMDR, DBT, and brainspotting, and specialize in trauma healing. Drawing inspiration from my own rich experiences, I find joy in helping others navigate the complexities of life. I offer individual and family therapy, drawing upon my wealth of experience and personal connection to the intricate dynamics of family life. My approach is tailored to support individuals in healing from past trauma, fostering meaningful connections, and guiding families toward a more harmonious existence. Trauma can change the way we see ourselves and the world, and I enjoy helping bring peace and serenity back to those who want it. My motivation stems from a profound belief in the transformative power of therapy. As a child, I was trained to help my mentally ill mother and alcoholic father. Throughout my life, I helped others with chronic health problems as a respiratory therapist, then became an emergency room nurse, where I realized that many health problems were related to mental health. I changed my career to psychiatric nursing and then became a therapist in 2004. I earned my Master’s in Clinical Social Work from California State University Long Beach. I embarked on this path to help others overcome wounds that might hinder them from experiencing a fuller, more joyful life. As a seasoned therapist with training as a nurse, I have the experience necessary to approach my clients from a holistic lens, seeing the mind and body as interconnected.
