Are your emotions at times overwhelming? Are you trying to adjust to a life change and feeling stuck? So many people today are finding themselves increasingly anxious and depressed. You don't have to continue in this rut. I will work with you to use your strengths to build a solid, positive, self-care plan that will mend those places where you are tender and will build resilience for future challenges. I have over 30 years of working with all ages of clients with issues around trauma, depression, anxiety, and managing life transitions. I use planned self-care skills that I will teach you to use prophylactically, then we will dive deep into the concerns you have and unpack what needs unpacked while holding onto the precious, hopeful, joy filled, parts of you that may be hiding. I obtained by master's degree in clinical social work from the University of South Florida. After graduating, I worked on a sexual trauma team for about 8 years and them held various jobs working with justice involved youth, children in foster care, adults with serious mental illness and addiction, members of the LGBTQI+ community, and all along the way, I have supported victims of trauma to attain healing and hope. I use adult learning theory, cognitive behavioral therapy, insight-oriented psychotherapy, compassionate questioning, and supportive therapy. I teach emotional freedom technique if indicated for your specific needs. I firmly believe that you are the expert on what works for you. My years of experience and the amazing people who have allowed me the honor of joining their wellness journeys have taught me that the therapeutic rapport that we develop is the vehicle that allows us to make progress. If you choose to work with me, you will soon learn that I work just as hard as you do to get us to the finish line. I believe in YOU!
