Getting to know Terri Wentworth-Bennett

I am a licensed Clinical Social Worker practicing in Southern Maine. I received my BSW from the University of Southern Maine and my Master of Social Work from the University of New England. My focus is Adolescents, Adults, and the elderly. My approach I am fairly goal-oriented and find clients are encouraged when they see Suttle improvements. I have a strong foundation from Systems, strength, and CBT. DBT and solution-focused treatment and use them naturally in my practice. It should be noted that I am always looking for clients to build success, so I work myself out of a job!! My focus Depression, Trauma, Anxiety, LGBTQIA, Couples, Grief, and elder care. My communication style I am a curious listener who engages honestly with my clients. I may assign homework if applicable to strength behaviors. I try to strengthen the trust by being transparent in our focus. My journey to mental healthcare I was always an empathic person and started naturally supporting my peers/friends as early as high school. My goals for you I usually establish treatment goals that are obtainable, and client-driven. It is important to also incorporate assessment tools to show progress. My first session with you I usually spend the first session gaining an understanding of "What brings you here today" and gathering some history that may be important while building a therapeutic alliance.
