Getting to know Terry Ainsworth

Reaching out to a counselor can be scary for most. It takes a lot of courage to share and trust someone with your most intimate issues. Most people simply want to be heard, validated, and not judged while working through their challenges. I work to create a safe and welcoming environment by being supportive, honest, and nonjudgmental. With a Master's in Social Work from Southern University at New Orleans, I pride myself on listening and being a guiding force to help individuals and families gain the clarity and insight needed to get to a healthy space.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I have experience working with teenagers, couples, and individual adults struggling with family issues, anxiety, depression, trauma, behavioral issues, and relationship concerns. My goal is to provide you with immediate and long term tools to make positive life long changes. It would be a privilege to undergo your counseling journey with you. What is your typical process for working with clients?

I use several treatment approaches (CBT, SFBT, TF-CBT, Youth-PTSD) in supporting individuals and families. I begin where you are and tailor my approach to your needs. During our initial sessions, we will delve into the issues at hand, and collaborate to create a plan for addressing them in a way that helps you get your life back.
