Psychotherapist
FL
Hi, I’m Thalia Suarez. I’m a trauma and attachment therapist who has worked in the mental health field for over 7 years, with the past 4 years providing direct clinical therapy to teens and adults experiencing anxiety, emotional overwhelm, and relationship challenges. My work focuses on helping clients better understand emotional reactions, coping patterns, and the ways these experiences can impact daily life and relationships. I use evidence-based approaches including EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and Accelerated Resolution Therapy to help process difficult experiences and reduce the emotional intensity connected to them. I also specialize in working with neurodivergent and non-neurotypical individuals and have experience supporting military service members and military families navigating stress, transition, and relational challenges. In addition, I incorporate attachment-focused work and Gottman-informed relationship principles when supporting clients navigating relational patterns or conflict. My approach is collaborative and grounded in neuroscience and trauma research, helping clients build emotional regulation, insight, and healthier ways of responding to life’s challenges.

What should a new client know about working with you?

New clients often want to know what therapy with me will feel like. My approach is collaborative, supportive, and paced in a way that respects your comfort and readiness. You don’t need to have everything figured out before starting. Many people begin therapy simply knowing that something in their life feels difficult or confusing, and we work together to understand it. Because my work focuses on trauma and attachment, we often explore emotional reactions, relationship patterns, and coping strategies that may be affecting your day-to-day life. I integrate approaches such as EMDR and Accelerated Resolution Therapy when appropriate, always moving at a pace that feels safe and manageable. My goal is to create a space where you feel heard, understood, and supported while developing practical tools and insights that help you move forward with greater clarity and emotional steadiness.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My approach is holistic, client-centered, and trauma-informed. I try to honor the emotional, mental, relational, and personal parts of each person’s experience while creating a space that feels safe, respectful, and non-judgmental. In the first few sessions, we focus on understanding what brings you to therapy and developing a clearer picture of your experiences, current challenges, and goals. This helps us identify patterns, stressors, or reactions that may be contributing to what you’re going through. As therapy progresses, we begin working more intentionally on those areas. This may include developing practical tools for managing emotions and stress, exploring relationship patterns, and when appropriate, using approaches such as EMDR or Accelerated Resolution Therapy to help process difficult experiences. Throughout the process, we move at a pace that feels manageable while working toward meaningful change, greater emotional regulation, and a stronger sense of clarity moving forward.
