Getting to know Theresa Gerstein

I am a solution-focused therapist with a goal to help clients find their way to feeling better quickly without unending months of therapy. I help clients find their best selves. I hold a Master's in Social Work from the University of Southern California, which equips me with the skills and knowledge to support clients effectively on their journey to wellness.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I like to meet the client where they are, so each client will be seen as an individual with needs that need to be met with evidenced based practices such as motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy, Acceptance and Commitment therapy, and Solution Focused therapy. Your first visit allows us to map out what areas of your life are causing you struggle and create a plan to move forward.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

The first session is where we discuss what barriers the client is facing and work together to create a plan of action. From there on, the client is in the driver's seat, with each meeting seeking to continue on the plan but also adapt to what is needed that session.
