My direct client experience includes work with adult clients who have difficulty with mental health and substance abuse issues; individuals who have experienced a traumatic event in their lives; young adults who are experiencing a first episode of psychosis; individuals who suffer from severe and persistent mental illness such as Schizophrenia and Bipolar Disorder; and college students experiencing academic and personal concerns. In addition, I also supervise Masters Level Counseling students who are working towards obtaining their licensure to practice in the field. Therapy is a multi-faceted process that involves increasing self-awareness and problem-solving. I help individuals resolve problems and transform patterns of feeling, thinking, and behavior, so they can create a life that is more satisfying and fulfilling. This may involve a better understanding of what generates challenging feelings and increasing one’s ability to cope with them. It may also involve finding healthy ways to increase positive feelings or express oneself.
