Hi, I'm Tiffany Hernandez Broome, a Licensed Associate Professional Counselor and Provisional Registered Art Therapist offering telehealth therapy to adults and adolescents across Pennsylvania. I work with people who are carrying more than they know how to put into words, whether that's anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, identity questions, or the weight of patterns that have been running quietly in the background for years. My path into this work started with art. I earned my Bachelor of Fine Art before going on to complete my Master's degree at Cedar Crest College, where I was nominated for the Pennsylvania Art Therapy Association Graduate Research Award and selected as the Espejo Graduate Student Speaker. That creative lens shapes how I show up in sessions. I believe healing rarely happens through talking alone, and that the parts of us holding the deepest pain often don't speak in full sentences. Art therapy offers another doorway in, and you don't need any artistic skill or experience to do this work with me.I bring six years of clinical experience to my private practice work, including serving as Lead Counselor at White Deer Run of Acadia Healthcare, an inpatient dual diagnosis program. I'm also a Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor through the Pennsylvania Certification Board, which means I have specialized training in working with substance use and the mental health concerns that so often live alongside it. Whether you're navigating recovery, questioning your relationship with substances, or working through the underlying experiences that shaped those patterns, you'll find a non-judgmental space here.I see clients statewide through Darin King Counseling, where I practice under the clinical supervision of Darin King, LPC. Telehealth makes it possible to do this work from Pittsburgh, the surrounding communities, or anywhere else in Pennsylvania, on your own schedule and from a space that feels safe to you.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My approach is creative, intuitive, and rooted in the belief that you already hold so much of what you need to heal, even when it doesn't feel that way yet. I'm trained as both a counselor and an art therapist, which means our sessions can take different shapes depending on what you're working through and what feels right for you. Some clients come in wanting traditional talk therapy. Others want to explore through imagery, color, metaphor, or hands-on creative work. Many move between both. You don't need to be artistic, creative, or comfortable with making things to work with me. Art therapy isn't about producing something beautiful. It's about giving the parts of you that don't have words yet a way to be seen, witnessed, and understood. For people who have done years of talk therapy without it fully landing, or for those who struggle to name what they're feeling, this often opens something that nothing else has. Clients tend to come to me for trauma, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, identity exploration, life transitions, complicated family dynamics, low self-worth, emotional regulation, and challenges related to substance use or recovery. I work with adolescents who are navigating the layered pressures of growing up, finding themselves, and managing mental health concerns that are often dismissed or misunderstood. I also work with adults who have spent a long time taking care of everyone else and are finally turning the attention inward. I move at your pace. I notice patterns gently rather than confronting them, and I trust you as the expert on your own experience. I'll bring curiosity, warmth, and honesty into our work, and I'll meet you wherever you actually are, not where you think you should be by now. If you've been looking for a therapist who can hold both depth and creativity, I'd love to hear from you.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our first session together is a chance to get to know each other. I'll ask about what brought you in, what's been weighing on you, what's worked or hasn't worked in past therapy, and what kind of support you're hoping to find. There's no pressure to have it all figured out, and you'll have time to ask me anything you want to know too. By the end, my goal is for you to leave with a clearer sense of what we might work on together and whether I feel like the right fit. From there, most clients meet with me weekly or biweekly for fifty-minute telehealth sessions. Early on, we focus on building safety, understanding what's been showing up in your life, and finding ways to help you feel steadier between sessions. As trust grows, we can move into deeper work, exploring where your patterns came from, what they've been protecting, and what it might look like to live differently. Because I'm trained in art therapy, we have the option to use creative work as part of our sessions. This can look like drawing, sketching, collage, working with imagery, or other expressive approaches that fit what you have available at home. Art therapy isn't required, and many clients choose talk-only sessions. For others, especially those processing trauma or working with feelings that are hard to put into language, creative expression becomes the most important part of the work. For clients addressing substance use or recovery, sessions also include exploring triggers, building coping skills, working through shame, and addressing the mental health concerns that often live alongside addiction. I take a non-shaming, harm-reduction-informed approach, which means we meet you where you actually are. I check in often about how therapy is feeling and what's helpful or unhelpful, and I'll adjust along the way. Most clients begin noticing meaningful shifts within the first one to three months, though the work moves at the pace your nervous system can hold.
