Psychotherapist
6666 Amarillo Blvd, UNIT 4, Amarillo, TX
Hello, I'm Tim. I've been in the mental health world for over 30 years and was first licensed as a Professional Counselor (LPC) in 1991. Since then, I've added a few more credentials, including my license as a Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC), and Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor. I've also held certifications both nationally and internationally as a Registered Play Therapist and Supervisor—both are currently inactive, but I still do a lot of play therapy work. This means I have a great deal of experience working with children and helping adults with their parenting issues. I've also had the unique experience of working overseas in Iraq as an EAP counselor for one and a half years back in 2010 and 2011. My career has taken me to community mental health centers, a psychiatric hospital, a general hospital, a detention center, and, of course, my private practice. I also have an ongoing contract with CPS, working with children and adults dealing with abuse, neglect, and addiction issues. I start with all that information to let you know I have a wealth of experience and have likely worked with Maley of the issues you are coming here to resolve, or worse. I am a quick study and am known for getting right to the problem. I'm honest and straightforward in my approach and yet feel that our relationship is the key in helping you to get to, and past, your concerns. I'm very well-versed in major mental health problems such as depression, anxiety, and PTSD (for which I am trained in EMDR to deal with). While we'll be talking the talk, we'll be walking the walk as well—to get you feeling back to your old self or maybe even a new one. And I'm here to walk it with you. How about we get started?
