Getting to know Tim LaGro

Hi, I'm Tim. I believe that all of us struggle with being addicted to something in life if we are honest with ourselves. This often stems from a desire to numb emotional pain that we haven't been able to work through. I recently read that eighty percent of us have experienced some type of trauma and haven't addressed that underlying pain, leading us to find ways to suppress it. This can cause internal relational problems that manifest in our interactions with family, work, friends, and others. In 2012, I graduated from Ashland Theological Seminary with a Master’s degree in Clinical Counseling. I took my first licensing test in Ohio before moving to Indiana, where I began working in the community mental health field for four and a half years. I received my independent LMHC license in 2016. Growing up in Michigan and being close to home, I decided to get licensed in Michigan as well. With 10 years of experience as a therapist, I have had the privilege of helping people navigate their challenges both individually and in groups. I find it incredibly rewarding to listen to people's stories, help them process where things aren't working, and develop goals to change their lives. While I have a particular interest in working with individuals aged 12 to 49, I have experience with clients of all ages. I specialize in areas such as anxiety, depression, family relationships, life transitions, intimate and romantic relationships, spirituality, stress, adolescent and teen mental/behavioral health, trauma, and addiction. I also offer SonderMind Video Telehealth services for those who prefer or require remote sessions.
