Tim Shreve, LCSW

Tim Shreve, LCSW

Psychotherapist
TX
Tim Shreve received his bachelor's degree in Kinesiology from the University of North Texas. His passion to help others led him to the field of social work, where he earned his Master’s in Social Work from the University of Texas at Arlington. Tim has spent nearly 20 years helping children and families in the child welfare system, schools, and hospitals. Most recently, he provided virtual behavioral health services through Children’s Medical Center, where he also helped families manage the stress of chronic illness. Tim specializes in helping individuals stop the cycle of negative thinking that fuels anxiety and depression. Through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), he works to bring awareness to common cognitive distortions and discusses skills and strategies to gain better control of thoughts and emotions. Tim also works to normalize the emotional experience for those who have difficulty acknowledging or expressing their emotions. He helps clients see the benefits of acknowledging and addressing emotions rather than avoiding and repressing them, which often leads to a cascade of unwanted behaviors. In his free time, Tim can usually be found coaching or attending one of his daughters’ sporting events. An outdoor and sports enthusiast, he is happiest watching a game on a patio or hiking a mountain trail with family.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
