Getting to know Timothy Almquist

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with more than four years of clinical experience. I have training in EMDR, Gottman, Emotionally Focused and Relational Life Therapy. My client focus is adults and couples. I am licensed in Ohio and Washington and currently offer telehealth services for individual or couples therapy.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My approach is relational and trauma-informed. I provide nonjudgmental support and professional guidance while we work together. Throughout the therapy process, my hope is you will better understand and connect with yourself and others. I utilize interventions from a variety of clinical models depending on client needs and goals for treatment.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

In the first session we will identify your reasons for seeking treatment and the changes you desire. I will ask questions to gather relevant information about your mental health and relationship history. We will begin to clarify specific goals for your treatment moving forward. Treatment will begin with weekly sessions lasting about an hour.
