Getting to know Timothy Gobek

My name is Timothy S. Gobek, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master’s in Social Work from Loyola University Chicago. The two areas I focus on are your self-esteem and your history. We will work on changing your mindset about yourself, and we will also explore your behavior based on your history. My approach I generally use a psychodynamic approach when working with clients. I also incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy along with Motivational Interviewing. My focus I especially enjoy working with adolescents and young adults. I work well with clients who are depressed and those who have a history of trauma. My communication style I create a safe and soothing environment. No loud voices or aggressive behavior will be found in my office. My journey to mental healthcare When I was in college, I worked with a club on campus called Circle K. We did service projects that involved working with orphanages and nursing homes. I decided to pursue a career helping these populations move away from their emotional problems. My goals for you I work in conjunction with the client to create S.M.A.R.T. goals. My first session with you During the first session, the client will be assessed for issues they may be struggling with, and we will set goals in a treatment plan.
