Psychotherapist
901 W Rosedale St, Ste 250, Fort Worth, TX
I help individuals, couples, and families work through the parts of life that feel heavy, confusing, or stuck. My style is warm, collaborative, and down-to-earth — I don’t believe in quick fixes, but I do believe people can make real and lasting change when they feel understood and supported. I draw from CBT and DBT to give structure and tools that actually work in everyday life, while keeping room for the deeper emotional work that brings clarity and connection. Whether we’re exploring anxiety, burnout, relationship struggles, or that sense of just not feeling like yourself lately, my goal is to create a space where you can exhale, get honest, and start to feel more grounded in who you are.

Getting to know Timothy Spellings

What should a new client know about working with you?

Working with me tends to feel like a mix of conversation, reflection, and gentle challenge. I’m not the type to sit in silence and nod — I’ll engage with you, ask questions, and help you see patterns you might have missed. Sessions often balance exploring what’s underneath your emotions with learning practical tools you can use between sessions. You don’t have to have it all figured out before showing up; we’ll build clarity together. My goal is for you to leave each session feeling a little more understood, grounded, and capable of handling what’s in front of you.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our first session is about getting to know you — what’s been weighing on you, what’s worked in the past, and what you’re hoping to get out of therapy. I take time to listen and understand your story before we set any goals together. From there, we’ll move at a pace that fits you, combining practical tools with deeper reflection. Sessions often include identifying patterns, learning coping skills, and talking through real-life situations so the work feels relevant and actionable. You can expect a balance of structure and flexibility — enough direction to stay focused, but enough space to explore what’s really going on underneath. My aim is to help you build insight, confidence, and resilience one step at a time.

I accept insurance through Headway, which lets me be in-network with major insurers. Headway currently works with Aetna, Blue Cross/Blue Shield (in select states), Cigna, Oscar, Oxford, UnitedHealthcare, and all Optum affiliates. If your plan is accepted through Headway, we can handle billing directly so you don’t have to worry about claims. For clients whose insurance isn’t yet in-network, I also accept most major commercial plans. Let me know and we can check together whether your insurance is accepted before starting.
