What should a new client know about working with you?

I approach therapy with a deep commitment to understanding your unique experiences and needs. My style is collaborative, compassionate, and tailored to you as an individual. My goal is to create a safe and supportive environment where you feel comfortable exploring your challenges and strengths. Together, we’ll work to identify and address the root causes of your concerns. I use evidence-based therapies, such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Brainspotting, to help you develop new, healthier thought patterns and behaviors. Initially, we'll focus on establishing a sense of safety and trust, which will allow us to work on creating meaningful changes in your life. Each session is an opportunity for you to gain insights, build coping strategies, and make progress at your own pace. My approach is flexible, adjusting to your specific needs, whether you're dealing with anxiety, trauma, depression, or other challenges. You can expect to be met with understanding, respect, and a commitment to your growth throughout our time together.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

A typical session with me will begin with a brief check-in, where we’ll discuss how you’ve been feeling since our last visit. We’ll talk about any challenges or successes you’ve experienced and identify areas you’d like to focus on during our time together. As a psychiatrist, my approach includes a thorough diagnostic process to understand your mental health concerns in-depth. This may involve discussing your symptoms, medical history, and any relevant life experiences that might be impacting your mental health. I believe in using a holistic approach, which means considering both biological and psychological factors to form a comprehensive understanding of your situation. While my primary focus is on psychiatric care, I also incorporate therapeutic techniques to support your healing. If you're interested, I may use interventions from evidence-based approaches such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), to name a few. These can help you develop healthier thought patterns and behaviors that align with your personal goals. I prioritize creating a safe and supportive space, so you feel heard and understood during every session. Whether we’re addressing medication management, emotional concerns, or making progress in therapy, my goal is to work with you to find the best strategies and solutions to improve your well-being.
