Getting to know Tina Williams

Hi there, I'm Tina! Hello, my name is Tina Williams, and I am a Licensed Marriage Family Therapist based in Southern California, working with clients statewide via telehealth. I hold a Master's in Counseling from the University of Phoenix and an Associate's degree from Imperial Valley College. I work with families, couples, children, and individuals to strengthen their relationships, hoping to help them find a healthy perception of themselves-to be peaceful, whole, complete, and safe. My approach I value cognitive behavioral therapy and person-centered therapy. Even though there is no single approach that is right for every individual I help, I appreciate cognitive behavioral therapy because it focuses on how our thinking affects the way we feel and behave. I also value person-centered therapy because it gives the clients I work with the responsibility to deal with their problems and concerns. My focus I work with children, adolescents, and adults. I'm most comfortable working with clients struggling with depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, and intrusive thoughts. My communication style My communication style is welcoming. I create an atmosphere where the client feels comfortable and relaxed. Clients can go at their own pace, and at any time they need to stop or even walk away, they may do so. I want them to know and feel that this is their safe place and that I will listen to them with no judgment. My journey to mental healthcare I have always had the desire to help others, encouraging them to be the best they can be. I tell them, ?It's not how you start; it's how you finish.? Psychology caught my eye, which led to my journey to becoming a therapist. I have found it rewarding to assist people in achieving self-awareness and honesty, as well as helping others deal with anxiety in a realistic way. My goals for you Collaborating with the client is my approach.

It's been a long journey of having therapists leaving after starting a program. I love this new therapist and how secure I feel in knowing our meetings are scheduled and not canceled.
