I've been working in this field for over five years. My desire to become a therapist began during my adolescence when a close relative was diagnosed with schizophrenia. Witnessing his journey and seeing how poorly people with mental health concerns were treated propelled me into the helping field. Over the years, I have gained a wide range of experience working in outpatient, partial care, and higher education settings. My experience includes providing individual, family, and group therapy to a varied population, addressing issues such as marital/couple's concerns, depression, anxiety, academic problems, crisis intervention, addictions, and more. My approach involves creating an integrative and individualized plan to fit each client's therapeutic needs. Sometimes we need a neutral and unbiased person to motivate us when we are unable to motivate ourselves. Initial sessions focus on rapport building. I strive to provide a safe place to experience and process emotions, identify unhelpful patterns, and learn healthy coping skills. My approach is tailored to each individual's therapeutic needs. Therapy with me is about bringing awareness to unhealthy behaviors and thought patterns that may be impacting your life. Without recognizing these patterns, it is impossible to make a conscious decision to be or do something new. My overall goal is to equip each client with the skills needed to manage the stressors they might experience in daily life.
