Psychotherapist
MN
Hi there, I'm Todd! I believe every person has an inner capacity for healing, growth, and meaningful change. My approach is warm, intuitive, and collaborative, while creating a safe and supportive space to feel heard. I help to uncover strengths, recognize patterns no longer needed, and develop strategies that help you feel genuine within your relationships. My focus My style is intuitive with information gathering. I have no agenda initially other than getting to know clients and identifying why they have come to therapy. Some of that may be direct questions but other times it may be the identification of patterns where clients feel stuck. Some clients cannot express how they feel; my job is to help with that. My approach My practice is grounded in a solution-focused philosophy that emphasizes hope, progress, and achievable goals. We identify clear objectives while exploring thoughts, emotions, and life experiences that influence the present. Each session may be different in what intuitively comes up, but the goal remains the same: change towards the positive. My communication style I am not confrontational or use any kind of shame techniques. Rather, I use thought-provoking questions related to a pattern I see or a problem that comes up. I may also ask the simple question, "How do you feel?" There's no trickery or any questions that are a trap. This style of communication is only to understand you better for therapy. My journey to mental healthcare Very much drawn into therapy through having childhood trauma. Being a mental health therapist seemed like a natural field to go into after I sorted out emotions, lived experiences, patterns, and ways of thinking after becoming an adult. I cannot say that being a therapist helps me with trauma today; rather, it helps me understand the clients I see. My goals for you Therapy is a process of exploration, learning, and growth; your insights and lived experiences are just as important as my professional knowledge.
