What should a new client know about working with you?

I support clients navigating depression, trauma, anxiety, grief and life transitions by creating a space that’s safe, affirming, and goal-oriented. Therapy with me is a collaborative process—we’ll explore your story together, clarify what’s weighing you down, and build a plan that feels empowering and doable. I draw from several evidence-based approaches to meet your unique needs. With Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), we’ll look closely at how your thoughts shape your emotions and behaviors, and practice tools to shift patterns that no longer serve you. I also use Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, which helps us identify your strengths and move toward clear, achievable goals. Narrative Therapy is another key part of my work. It invites you to examine the stories you’ve been told—or tell yourself—about who you are. Together, we’ll explore how those narratives have shaped your identity and emotional experience and begin rewriting them in ways that reflect your resilience, values, and hopes. For example, if you’ve internalized the belief “I’m not good enough,” we’ll gently challenge that story and uncover the evidence of your strength and growth. I also incorporate mindfulness practices to help you stay grounded in the present moment. Whether it’s breathwork, guided reflection, or noticing your body’s signals, mindfulness can be a powerful tool for calming anxiety, building self-awareness, and reconnecting with your inner wisdom. Clients appreciate my calm presence and thoughtful, straightforward guidance during sessions. My role isn’t to fix you—it’s to walk alongside you as you build insight, resilience, and confidence in your ability to feel better.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Starting therapy is a big step, and I want you to feel supported from the very beginning. I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation so we can briefly talk about what’s bringing you to therapy and whether we feel like a good fit to work together. This is a chance for you to ask questions, share concerns, and get a sense of my style before committing to a full session. If we decide to move forward, we’ll begin with the intake process, which typically takes 1 to 3 sessions. During this time, I’ll gather information about your history, current challenges, strengths, and goals. This helps me understand your unique story and determine which therapeutic approaches will best support your healing and growth. You’ll also have space to share what’s most important to you—whether that’s feeling less anxious, processing trauma, improving relationships, or simply finding more peace in your day-to-day life. After intake, our sessions will focus on progress toward your goals. Therapy is collaborative, so we’ll regularly check in on what’s working, what needs adjusting, and how you’re feeling about the process. I use a blend of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and trauma-informed care. Depending on your needs, we may also incorporate mindfulness practices to help you stay grounded and build emotional awareness. Between sessions, I may offer reflective exercises or practical tools to help you apply what we’re working on. These “homework” assignments are always optional and tailored to your comfort level. My role is to walk alongside you—offering structure, support, and space to grow at your own pace.
