Hi, I’m Mario (or Tomario), a compassionate Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 14 years of experience helping individuals and families navigate life’s most challenging moments. I earned both my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Social Work from Jackson State University. I specialize in therapy for anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, and relationship issues. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, stuck in old patterns, or simply in need of support, I provide a safe, nonjudgmental space where healing and growth can take place. My approach is client-centered, and I believe in meeting people where they are in life—mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.
What should a new client know about working with you?
Clients can expect punctuality, empathy, and honesty. I work hard to create a diverse and inclusive environment where you feel heard and respected. I assign meaningful “homework” to help you practice skills outside of our sessions—because real growth happens in everyday life, not just during appointments. Together, we’ll explore your goals, identify barriers, and build strategies that empower lasting change.
What is your typical process for working with clients?
In our sessions, I use open-ended questions and active listening to deeply understand your story. I incorporate evidence-based techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, and Solution-Focused Therapy. My process is collaborative: I’ll provide honest feedback, maintain positive body language, and guide you through the journey with structure and compassion. Whether you're seeking individual therapy, couples counseling, or support for your child or teen, we’ll create a plan that fits your unique needs.
