I'm a Georgia Peach with a New Jersey Swag. I am from Newark, New Jersey but I lived in Georgia for about 15yrs. I have that southern touch along with that New Jersey toughness. I love helping people obtain their goals in life. I have been in the field of counseling for over 20yrs. I know counseling works because I've personally tried it. Counseling is my 2nd career in life and my combination of education and life experiences tends to be a great match for helping others. I am the co-chair person of my towns police departments domestic violence team, I have worked on my townships sexaul assault response team, I have over 12yrs working as a Clinical Supervisor over acute adult partial care programs. My experience also includes me being the clinical supervisor of the supported employment and the homeless programs for my county. I am also a member of the American Psychological Association Minority Fellowship Program and I have worked as an in home therapist with youth and families for over 14yrs. I started my career working in schools and in a children's hospital with at risk youth and teen offenders and sex victims at a wilderness camp. I have experienced in various areas but I specialize in working with people with trauma related issues. Clients can expect a compassionate therapist who most people will be able to connect with easily. I prepare educational and interactive sessions that can sometimes be fun. I utilize worksheets, youtube, movie clips and games in sessions. I work with my clients as a team. I am honest and upfront. I am clear and I enjoy hearing feedback. I am serious about my clients treatment so I provide consistent treatment but I am flexible and understanding if you need to cancel or reschedule in advance.
