Getting to know Toni Lyn Healy

My name is Toni Healy, and I am a New York state licensed Mental Health provider. I hold a Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from the City University of New York, Brooklyn College. I have special interest, training, and experience working with self-esteem and self-compassion, anxiety, depression, caregiver fatigue, alcohol use, adjustment issues, as well as exploring the mind-body connection.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My approach to therapy is based on relational theory and positive psychology. I focus on exploring early relationships and how they shape our patterns of behavior in adult life. I do this from a strengths-based perspective, to help you discover your power and develop compassion for all parts of yourself. My goal is to create an environment for us to process old patterns- and learn new ones, using methods drawn from cognitive-behavioral therapy and mindfulness practices.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Clients should expect to come away from a session with a sense of empowerment and clarity. I want to help you discover the beauty around you now, so you can attract more of what you want out of life.

Toni is a wonderful therapist who creates a safe, supportive space and offers practical, transformative insight that has helped me so much. I highly recommend.
Toni is very compassionate, knowledgeable, and helpful. I was hesitant about starting therapy and am so glad I did. She is really down to earth and makes everyone feel so comfortable! Don’t hold off, reach out to her!
I have been working with Toni for almost 2 years and I am so grateful for her. She has helped me manage my anxiety and navigate some pretty challenging life transitions.
I have been working with Toni for over 2 years. She has supported me through multiple life transitions with nothing but an open ear, concrete action steps, and whole-hearted support. Toni asks the hard questions, but always makes me feel I am capable and worthy! I’ve referred her to several friends who love seeing her as well!
I have been seeing Toni for over 1 year now and would highly recommend. It took me a long time to find a therapist I felt comfortable with and it has helped so much. She caters our sessions based on what I am looking to work through and is flexible in her approach allowing me to sometimes just talk and be heard and other times taking a step back and discussing my big picture goals with therapy.
It is my first time ever going to therapy and I can definitely say that I have felt so comfortable with Toni. I feel safe to share my experiences without judgment but also challenges me. 10/10!!
Toni was the first therapist I ever worked with. I was always hesitant to use a therapist due to the taboo nature of therapy and felt as if I could solve my own problems. I was greatly mistaken. I was going through a tough time in my young adult life and Toni helped me navigate such difficulty with compassion, thoughtfulness, and immense knowledge. I got to a point where I was looking forward to our sessions each week because I always left feeling better, with tangible skills to apply to my day-to-day life. I would strongly recommend Toni to anyone considering therapy for the first time, looking to change therapists or someone that has depended on therapy for their entire life.
Working with Toni has helped me tremendously. I look forward to every session and her insight is unmatched. She is very easy to talk to and I’ve recommended her to friends many times.
So down to earth !
After just one session, I felt very comfortable and heard by Toni. I’m new to talk therapy and would absolutely recommend her!

After dealing with PPD for over a year, I finally caved and saw Toni. She has helped me tremendously. She has helped me see my self worth and gain confidence I haven't had for years. She helps me realize things that I have known but maybe didn't want to admit. I always needed a therapist who was no bullshit and straight to the point and this was Toni 100%. She has such a calm nature about her. She is sweet and funny but will call you out on stuff as well. She is also by far the easiest person I have ever talked to and opened up to. I highly recommend seeing her.
This is my first time going to therapy and I was super nervous. Dr. Healy immediately put me at ease. She is personable, an excellent communicator and a great listener. Her focus is always on what the patient feels they need in their journey offering a number of different types of tools that best fit for what works for you, she doesn't force any one method on you and makes sure you leave every conversation feeling good about the session and what was talked about. Even when the conversations get emotional, I always leave with a feeling of hope. Highly recommend - especially if its your first time going to therapy.
