Getting to know Toni Young
I received a Master of Science in Psychology in 2009 from Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, Texas. With over 10 years of experience working with individuals, couples, families, and youth of all ages, I enjoy using a variety of techniques and modalities in combination to help my clients meet their goals. My goal as a therapist is to create a safe environment where individuals can develop the tools they need to make meaningful change. I have a passion for helping others grow and become healthier, and I would love to support you in making positive changes happen!
What should a new client know about working with you?
As a postmodern therapist, my sessions are strength based, collaborative and engaging because I want to provide a counseling experience that everyone will feel comfortable being a part of. With clients, I use Solution Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative, DBT and Collaborative Therapy.
What is your typical process for working with clients?
My style is warm supportive and non-judgmental. I strive to create a safe environment where my clients can be heard and also develop the tools they need to meet their goals. During session, we will work together to create 1-2 realistic goals and work towards progress together. You are not in this alone, I am here to support you!
