Torrie Hoover, LCSW

Torrie Hoover, LCSW

Psychotherapist
PA
Whether you are wanting to work through anxiety, depression, trauma, or general life stressors, I am here to help. Sometimes we say that we want therapy to ‘fix’ something about ourselves, but personally, I don’t like that word – we aren’t broken! Instead, I like to think of therapy as a way to work toward becoming the best versions of ourselves. In our therapy sessions, I will meet you where you are to help you along that journey. I hold a Master’s in Social Work from Southern Connecticut State University and have studied Psychology and Criminal Justice at the University of New Haven, which enriches my understanding of the diverse experiences my clients bring.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I utilize strategies of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help us recognize, identify, and change some of those negative patterns we fall into. I have experience working in multiple different settings to help individuals and families toward their personal goals.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

We tailor our sessions to fit each individual's needs. In our first session, we go over our policies, the process of therapy, and we focus on learning more about you and who you are as a person. We work collaboratively with you to find goals that align with what you're looking for to get out of therapy, and always make sure to meet you where you're at.
