I believe meaningful change begins when people have a safe, supportive place to be heard, understood, and empowered. My practice provides compassionate, individualized mental health services for adults, couples, families, veterans, military-connected individuals, and others facing life's challenges. I recognize that every person's experiences are different, which is why treatment is tailored to the needs, circumstances, values, and goals of each client. I work with individuals experiencing a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship and family difficulties, grief and loss, life transitions, stress, and challenges associated with military and veteran life. I emphasize a collaborative approach to care. Rather than applying a one-size-fits-all solution, I work alongside clients to identify concerns, recognize strengths, develop practical coping strategies, and establish realistic goals for personal growth and improved well-being. This practice is committed to providing an environment characterized by compassion, dignity, respect, confidentiality, and professional integrity. I welcome clients from diverse backgrounds and recognize the importance of understanding the whole person—not simply the difficulties that brought them to therapy. For clients who desire it, Christian and faith-integrated counseling may also be incorporated into treatment, while clients who prefer a secular therapeutic approach are equally respected and supported. Whether you are working through a difficult season, addressing long-standing concerns, strengthening important relationships, recovering from traumatic experiences, or simply seeking greater clarity and direction, I am here to help you move forward. Quiet the chatter. Find clarity. Move forward.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Working with me is a collaborative process. I believe therapy works best when you feel comfortable being yourself, speaking openly, and knowing that you will be treated with compassion, dignity, and respect. I understand that beginning therapy can sometimes feel intimidating, so our first sessions are focused on getting to know you—not simply identifying a diagnosis or problem. I want to understand what brought you to therapy, what you have experienced, what is important to you, and what you would like your life to look like moving forward. My approach is individualized rather than one-size-fits-all. Together, we will identify your goals, build on your existing strengths, and develop practical strategies that you can use outside of the therapy room. I believe in addressing the whole person and helping clients understand not only what they are experiencing, but also the patterns, relationships, experiences, and circumstances that may be contributing to it. You can expect me to listen, be straightforward when appropriate, and provide a supportive environment where difficult subjects can be discussed without judgment. For clients who desire it, faith and Christian principles can be incorporated into our work together. This is always based on the client's preferences and is never imposed. Most importantly, you don't have to arrive at your first appointment knowing exactly what to say or how to explain everything. We can begin wherever you are and work together from there.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My process begins with getting to know you as a person and understanding what brings you to therapy. During our initial sessions, we will discuss your concerns, experiences, relationships, strengths, and the goals you would like to accomplish. I believe it is important to understand the whole person rather than focusing only on symptoms. From there, we work together to develop an individualized plan based on your specific needs and goals. Therapy may include exploring patterns of thoughts, emotions, behaviors, relationships, and past experiences while also developing practical strategies you can use in your everyday life. As therapy progresses, we regularly evaluate what is working, what may need to change, and the progress you are making toward your goals. Treatment is not one-size-fits-all, so I adjust my approach as your needs and circumstances evolve. I strive to create a comfortable environment where you can speak openly without fear of judgment. I will listen carefully, ask questions, provide honest feedback, and help you recognize both challenges and strengths that may not always be easy to see on your own. For clients who wish to incorporate their Christian faith into therapy, faith-based principles can be included as part of the therapeutic process. This is always guided by the client's preferences. Ultimately, my goal is not simply to help you feel better during our sessions, but to help you develop greater understanding, healthier patterns, practical tools, and lasting skills that can continue benefiting you long after therapy ends.
