Tracy Carey, LPC Associate, LCDC

Tracy Carey, LPC Associate, LCDC

Psychotherapist
4040 N Central Expy, Ste 210, Dallas, TX
I primarily focus on individual adults, couples, and family formats, with a special emphasis on couples. Within those groups, I treat concerns such as infidelity and betrayal trauma, developmental trauma, sexual abuse trauma, anxiety, depression, addiction, and relationship issues. I hold a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Southern Methodist University and a Bachelor's degree from the University of Texas, Dallas. In addition to being a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPC-A), I am fully licensed as a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC). I have recently completed training to become a Certified Partner Trauma Therapist Candidate to enhance my work with betrayed partners of infidelity or sex addiction. I support individuals experiencing betrayal trauma and complex PTSD by helping them identify triggers, create boundaries, prepare for disclosures, process loss and grief, and I also facilitate betrayal trauma groups. To facilitate healing from trauma, I have trained in and use EMDR with clients. You are the owner of yourself, your struggles, and your solutions, and as such, your experiences are the map for our sessions. What we address will be determined by your ongoing experiences. I will actively guide that process to help you become more deeply aware of how you think, act, and feel, without telling you what to believe, how you should feel, or what you should do. As the facilitator, my job is to give you the tools for creating awareness, and together we will set measurable goals for your desired outcome. Tracy Carey is supervised by Shawna Lewis, LPC-S.
