Psychotherapist

I'm unconventional, I've been practicing far too many years to know that conventional is needed, but not always the answer. In my work with you, I bring many years of personal and professional experience; I've been through a lot. My personal belief is to have lived, is to have learned; and I am still learning. In our work together, we will unfold what is holding you back, working together to help you achieve your desired outcomes. We're a team. I believe that my own life experiences better serve you; I can relate. All those times you hear advice and think, "They just don't get it". I often do, and when I don't, help me to understand While trained in EMDR, I'm currently not practicing. It is my near future goal to go back to this modality, relearn, and start a new. I am trained and certified in TF-CBT, yet I no longer work with children. Having said that, TF-CBT provided me with many skills that allow me to support my adult clientele. I am currently training in Ketamine Assisted Therapy. To be honest, life is tough! We all have difficulties we face and struggle to get through them, myself included. Yet it is community, supports and dedication to empowering ourselves to persevere, that are key to growth. In my experience, your relationship with your therapist will be like not other relationship you will have.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I believe in working with people with where they are at through the use of non-judgmental talk therapy. I often hear, "my last therapist didn't really hear me...they wanted me to do things I wasn't ready to do". My job is to meet you and to help you move forward, and this is something we do together. I do think we all need a little push when we are stuck, but it isn't my role to force you into anything you don't want to do. We can look at what keeps you from moving forward and come up with strategies together, that help you.
