Psychotherapist

People seek therapy for many reasons. Maybe you've experienced a recent life change or event that is causing distress or discomfort. Maybe you've struggled with issues for a long time and have decided you have the desire and capacity to deal with it now. Maybe you're looking for a place to process and reflect on the stressors that are part of daily life. Whatever your motivation for seeking support at this time, I'm glad you're here and eager to learn more about how I can help. I hold a Master's in Clinical Social Work from the Center for Children and Families at Erikson Institute. I practice from a client-centered approach which values the therapeutic relationship, experiences across the lifespan, and the development of a self-narrative. I prioritize my client's values and goals for themselves and help facilitate deeper insight, greater internal calm, and more balanced relationships with self and others. I work with people at all points in life and have extensive experience in trauma, family of origin and relationship issues, foster care and adoption, attachment, parenting support, and life changes. I incorporate psychodynamic theory, CBT techniques, values exploration, self-compassion, and other approaches tailored to each individual's needs.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I'm a licensed clinical social worker with over 20 years of experience helping people navigate relationships with themselves, others, and their environment. I have extensive training in multiple therapy modalities and work with clients to determine the best approach for them.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I work to help people understand their unique experiences and how that has brought them to where they are now. From insight we can apply self-compassion and find the path forward. My specialities include trauma, relationship issues, attachment, depression and anxiety, and family of origin exploration. I encourage potential clients to start with a free, 15 minute consultation, during which you can share what you're looking to get out of therapy, and I can share a bit about myself and how I work. I am in network with Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO, United, and Cigna. I also accept private pay. Prior to meeting, I check your insurance so you know exactly what to expect and process all claims for the convenience of my clients. Please reach out with questions, I'm happy to work with you to keep therapy affordable.
