Trisha Johnson has over thirteen years of clinical experience working with children, adolescents, and adults. She specializes in trauma, eating disorders, body image, and mood disorders. Trisha utilizes an anti-diet, Health at Every Size (HAES), fat liberation framework to assist each client in finding their voice, becoming a more authentic version of themselves, and becoming more connected to their true selves. Prior to founding Trisha Johnson Therapy Group, Trisha spent six years as a School Social Worker in Schaumburg School District 54, where she helped students and their parents navigate the educational environment and its impact on students' mental health. She has also worked as a Treatment Supervisor with Abraxas in Woodridge, Illinois, a Community Support Specialist with Thresholds in Chicago, Illinois, and most recently as a Therapist for Life Balance Counseling in Schaumburg, Illinois. Trisha received her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Northern Illinois University and her Master's in Social Work from Aurora University, where she also served as the Secretary of the Human Rights Organization. She has published multiple articles and presented at numerous conferences around the world, including Kampala, Uganda, and San Francisco, California. When Trisha isn't working with her lovely clients, you can find her spending time with her family, doing yoga, or starting a new craft or project.
