Trina Lynch is a licensed professional counselor at Mosaic Wholeness Center in Rolling Meadows, Illinois, specializing in trauma recovery, attachment wounds, grief, and women’s emotional health for individuals who are ready to understand themselves more deeply and finally feel at home in their own story. Who She Helps Some of the most painful experiences people carry aren’t dramatic events but slow, quiet ones: the slow erosion of knowing who you are, the weight of old family patterns, the grief that doesn’t have a clean ending, the feeling that your body and your sense of self are somehow at war. Trina works with people in the middle of exactly that kind of pain. She specializes in working with: Women navigating grief, loss, and major life transitions Individuals struggling with body image, body dysmorphia, or body dysphoria People working through trauma and its long aftermath Adults and teens exploring identity, self-concept, and self-worth Individuals shaped by difficult attachment histories or family-of-origin dynamics Parents navigating complex or strained relationships with their children How She Works Trina’s approach is warm, collaborative, and genuinely curious about the person in front of her. She draws from person-centered therapy, attachment-based strategies, and trauma-informed care, weaving them together in a way that fits each client rather than forcing anyone into a predetermined framework. Sessions with Trina are a place to slow down, make sense of things, and build the kind of self-awareness and self-compassion that creates change that actually lasts.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Working with me feels less like being assessed and more like being genuinely seen. I create a pace that lets you slow down, look honestly at what you are carrying, and begin to make sense of it without feeling rushed or managed. My style is warm, collaborative, and deeply curious. I am not trying to fit you into a framework. I draw from person-centered therapy, attachment-based approaches, and trauma-informed care, and I shape the work around what each person actually needs. If you have spent years feeling like your story is too complicated, too quiet, or too hard to explain, I am particularly skilled at helping people find the thread. I often work with women navigating grief, identity, body image, and the long aftermath of difficult family histories. If any of that resonates, you won't have to work hard to feel understood here. One thing clients sometimes notice is the quality of attention I bring. Before becoming a counselor, I studied graphic design, and I carry a designer's instinct to notice what lies beneath the surface and how the pieces of a person's story connect. People often find that our sessions help them see themselves more clearly than they have in a long time.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

The first session is really about getting acquainted. I want to understand what brought you in, what you have already been through, and what you are hoping might change. I am not running through a checklist. I am listening for the shape of your experience and starting to build a relationship where honest work can actually happen. From there, early sessions tend to focus on slowing things down enough to see clearly. A lot of the people I work with have been carrying something for a long time, sometimes so long it just feels like who they are. Part of what we do together is start to separate you from the weight, to look at the patterns, the history, and the stories you have internalized and ask which ones are actually true. As we find our footing, sessions become more focused. Depending on what you need, that might mean processing specific experiences, working through grief or loss, exploring how early relationships have shaped how you move through the world, or building a more grounded and compassionate relationship with your body and yourself. I bring in tools and approaches as they fit, not on a predetermined schedule. Throughout the work, I check in regularly about how things are landing. If something is not resonating, I want to know. This is a collaborative process, and you are never just along for the ride. Most clients start by meeting weekly, especially in the early stages. We can adjust from there as the work evolves.
