Getting to know Tyler Pruitt

I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor with over six years of experience supporting individuals through life’s complexities. My work focuses on helping people navigate anxiety, depression, addiction, bipolar disorder, trauma, life transitions, LGBTQ+ concerns, and relational struggles. I believe therapy is not about fixing what’s “wrong” with you—it’s about making sense of your experiences, reconnecting with your values, and finding clarity. My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and grounded. I don’t offer cookie-cutter solutions or surface-level advice. Instead, I meet you where you are—with curiosity, honesty, and respect for your pace and your process. Together, we’ll create a space where your emotions, thoughts, and experiences are explored safely and without judgment. Whether you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or just unsure of your next step, therapy can be a space for healing, reflection, and growth. If you’re ready to begin that journey, I’m here to walk alongside you.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Working with me means stepping into a space that’s grounded, nonjudgmental, and centered around you. I’m not here to fix you—because I don’t believe you’re broken. You’re human, and if you're struggling, that doesn't make you any less worthy of care. My approach is collaborative and tailored to who you are. I don’t offer one-size-fits-all advice or quick fixes. Instead, I help you explore what matters most to you—your values, patterns, relationships, and hopes. Whether you're dealing with anxiety, addiction, depression, trauma, bipolar disorder, life transitions, LGBTQ+ concerns, or relational challenges, we’ll work at your pace, together. Therapy with me is more of a conversation than a checklist. You’ll find a space where your thoughts and feelings are heard and respected, and where you can be curious about yourself without fear of judgment. Some days will be heavy, others reflective, but the goal is always clarity, peace, and growth. If you’re unsure where to start, that’s okay. I’ll meet you where you are.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our work together begins with understanding—not just your symptoms, but your story. In the first few sessions, we’ll explore what brought you to therapy, what you're hoping for, and what’s been getting in the way. I’ll ask questions, listen closely, and start to get a sense of how we can approach things in a way that feels meaningful and manageable for you. As we move forward, sessions tend to be a mix of reflection, exploration, and practical tools. Some days might focus on unpacking emotions or patterns, while others might involve grounding strategies, insight-building, or working through tough decisions. I follow your lead—if you're navigating something heavy, we slow down. If you're ready to move, we move. My process isn’t rigid or prescriptive. It’s flexible, responsive, and collaborative. I bring clinical experience, but you bring your lived experience, and that matters just as much. Together, we’ll keep checking in—on what’s helping, what’s shifting, and what’s still feeling stuck—so your therapy stays aligned with where you are and where you want to go.

Offers a sliding scale for further assistance, upon request, and commitment to therapy. Sometimes insurance will have a copay. In this event you will pay what your insurance predetermines sometimes as low as 0-40 dollars. From there I will bill the insurance my cash rate and will be paid their contracted wage.
