Getting to know Tyler Richter

I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in the state of Washington, with a Master’s in Social Work from Eastern Washington University. My approach to therapy is eclectic, meaning I draw from a variety of theoretical methods to best fit your unique needs. I do not believe in a "one-size-fits-all" approach. I have received training in Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Solution Focused Therapy. I am dedicated to creating a comfortable space where you can openly express your needs. My focus is working with individuals dealing with depression, anxiety, and life transitions. I have experience working with inpatient psychiatric patients, community mental health, crisis intervention, and currently in a school setting. These roles have allowed me to support people with a wide range of needs and conditions. In our work together, I strive to make the environment a safe place for you to be yourself. I believe you are the expert on your own life, and I will ask questions to better understand your perspective. During our first session, you can expect me to listen carefully and seek to understand your current experience of life. You can also expect a genuine interest in you as a person.
