Hello! My name is Tymarria Kendall, and I’m a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in New York State. I earned my Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from the State University of New York, Oswego. Learning to unpack your past and choose what to bring into your future can improve your quality of life. My goal is to empower you, help you develop new coping skills, and resolve past trauma.
I know that starting therapy can be a terrifying and vulnerable experience, and I want to be with you on this journey. It is important to find the therapist that best fits you. I strive to be non-judgmental, supportive, and encouraging. I'll challenge you to acknowledge your feelings and to find healthy ways to deal with life’s stressors.
What should a new client know about working with you?
****A few key points before scheduling your appointment****
1) If you're looking for a consultation, please select "Mental Health Consultation" as the appointment reason. A consultation is where we meet, discuss treatment options and decide if I'm a good fit for you. I offer complimentary 15 minute sessions.
If you'd rather start therapy right away, you can choose the other options.
2) Unfortunately, I don't accept Medicaid. If you have Medicaid and another health insurance (Blue Cross Blue Shield etc), you'll be considered "out of network for me" and I will not be able to accept your insurance."
3) Include your Member ID, picture of your insurance card and address when you book your appointment. This makes it easier for me to verify your health insurance.

Not a good therapist for empathy and understanding. Her methods are not intuitive. She follows a long script. She spends more time talking than listening and does not seem well trained in psychotherapy practices or talk therapy.
