What should a new client know about working with you?

I am a naturally friendly, inquisitive and understanding individual. Authenticity is something I heavily emphasize on because I can only be a productive and trustworthy clinician when I am transparent to my clients. I prioritize building a strong, genuine connection with each client, ensuring they feel truly understood and supported. I am known to be a firm counselor, pushing my clients in therapy because I genuinely care about your growth and well-being. It’s all about challenging you to reach your full potential while providing a supportive, safe, and caring environment. I pride myself on being able to balance therapy with serious insights and light-hearted moments. I see potential in each of my clients, and in order to get them to see potential in themselves, I work diligently through my unconventional approaches to get there. Sometimes there will be acts of tough love and sometimes there will be acts of compassion, but the goal is always to create a journey to mental wellbeing.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Think of therapy with me like being on a reality TV show, but in the best way possible. First, we have our 'intro episode' where I get to know your backstory and what brought you here. Typically, what that will entail is in the first two sessions, I complete an intake so that I have a deeper understanding of each client. Then, we set some 'challenges' or goals that you want to achieve. I am very open minded and receptive of any goals that you may find important to work on regardless if they are typical goals or not. Nothing will ever be minimized by me in sessions. Most of therapy is feeling comfortable with yourself which I work on achieving by building your confidence through acceptance. Each session is like an episode where we tackle different tasks, sometimes with a twist that may arise once we establish a trustworthy connection/rapport. My previous clients would say that I often introduce unique and challenging methods to achieve goals in therapy solely through probing questions/dialogue. But there’s no need to worry! I love to use creative and explorative techniques to keep things engaging and productive and to help you see things from different perspectives as well, kind of like those unexpected plot twists that you see on the shows. Throughout the journey, we have our 'confessional' moments where you can share your thoughts and feelings openly. Sometimes topics will be painful, but I will always foster a safe space to help you explore those emotions. I am constantly right by your side to make sure we are working towards our goals and if there are any setbacks, I am there to lend a listening ear and an open heart. By the end, you'll have your own 'season finale' where you look back and see how far you've come, celebrating your progress and newfound insights. Therapy is never supposed to be scary, so my biggest aim is to help you feel at ease when navigating difficult concerns that you endure and enjoying the process of growth together.
