Getting to know Valacia Cyrus

Let's be honest: being a human in 2024 is exhausting. I am passionate about helping folks find their way back to inner calm, deeper connection with others, and true fulfillment in life. My clients often come to therapy carrying the weight of the past and struggling to control painful emotions or behaviors. My goal as a clinician is to create a gentle space for you to work toward emotional healing so that you can discover joy in life once again. I hold a Master's in Counseling from Wake Forest University and a Bachelor's degree from the University of California, Berkeley.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I offer support in taming overwhelming anxiety, strengthening relationships, and finding a path forward after ruptures in life. I specialize in working with trauma and intimacy concerns. I have spent 15 years working in sexual health and with communities recovering from religious trauma - there are no taboos in my practice. Your entire self is welcome here.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My counseling style is gentle and practical. I will incorporate philosophical and psychological tools that may be useful to you as we process your challenges. I aim to understand your problems at their roots and help you cultivate self compassion along the way.
