Valentina Victoria, AMFT

Valentina Victoria, AMFT

Psychotherapist
CA
I became a therapist because I believe therapy is about more than managing symptoms. It’s about understanding the story you’ve been living, making sense of the experiences that have shaped you, and exploring how you want to move forward. I’m especially drawn to working with people who are navigating questions of self-identity and life transitions—times when it can feel difficult to know who you are or what comes next. I don’t believe my role is to “fix” you. Instead, I want to help you reconnect with yourself, build trust in your own voice, find greater balance in your relationships, and create a life that feels more aligned with who you are.

Getting to know Valentina Victoria

I became a therapist because I believe therapy is about more than managing symptoms. It’s about understanding the story you’ve been living, making sense of the experiences that have shaped you, and exploring how you want to move forward. I’m especially drawn to working with people who are navigating questions of self-identity and life transitions—times when it can feel difficult to know who you are or what comes next. I don’t believe my role is to “fix” you. Instead, I want to help you reconnect with yourself, build trust in your own voice, find greater balance in your relationships, and create a life that feels more aligned with who you are.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I’m a big believer in creating routines that work well for the individual. For me, that includes making time for exercise, whether it’s going for a run or playing tennis. I find that having time to decompress and step away from the day helps clear my mind and allows me to reset both physically and mentally. Those small, intentional moments can make a meaningful difference in how we feel and show up in our everyday lives.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Healing happens in relationships, and therapy is one of them. Together, we’ll create a space where you can show up fully and feel heard, understood, and accepted. I’ll listen carefully to your experiences, reflect on what I’m hearing, and remain open to feedback so we can make sure the work feels aligned with your needs. We’ll move at a pace that feels comfortable for you while exploring your story, relationships, and the cultural and social contexts that shape your experiences. My hope is that therapy becomes a place where you feel supported as you gain clarity, recognize your strengths, and begin to write the next chapter of your story with greater confidence. In our work together, I take a collaborative, compassionate, and nonjudgmental approach. Building trust starts with creating a space where you feel heard, understood, and comfortable being your authentic self. I’ll listen closely to your story, your relationships, and the cultural and social contexts that have shaped your experiences, while making sure we move at a pace that feels right for you. Together, we’ll explore the patterns that may be keeping you feeling stuck, as well as the strengths and resources you already have. I may integrate practical tools from approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and mindfulness when they support your goals, but the work will always be tailored to you. My goal is for therapy to feel like a collaborative process where you feel respected, supported, and empowered in your growth.
