Getting to know Valerie Russell

Hi, I’m Valerie. Are you having difficulty managing the day-to-day of life right now? Have you been overwhelmed balancing family, relationships, work, health, and/or school, feeling depleted with little time for yourself? Perhaps you have higher demands and expectations placed on you than usual, or you are working toward a particular goal that seems unattainable without a new direction. Many of us struggle with these same challenges, and the good news is you do not have to face them alone. Whether you are dealing with loss, anxiety and depression, family crisis, or other issues, if you are ready for change, you are taking the first step now. My life’s passion is partnering with those like you who are seeking compassion, empathy, a safe space, and a healing environment to address your needs and goals. I hold a Master’s in Social Work from New York University, which has equipped me to support you effectively on your journey. Please let me know how we can work together toward a better you.

What should a new client know about working with you?

During therapy, you will learn about yourself and see your life choices in a new way. You might be unsure of why your thoughts, feelings and emotions are triggered by certain people, places and things, or notice a pattern of behavior that causes you distress. Our goal is to figure out the “what” and the “why” in order to understand and work toward change.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
