Getting to know Valerie Stein

Hello everyone! My name is Valerie Stein. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Florida, with over 25 years of psychotherapy experience. I graduated from Florida International University with a master's degree in social work. I have had the opportunity to work in a multitude of settings, including schools, adolescent residential treatment facilities, foster care, group homes, and community mental health centers. I have also provided in-home therapy services and school-based counseling. I am grateful to have worked with children and families from various cultures and ethnic backgrounds. I am a very empathic person who believes that therapy should be a respectful and collaborative process. Having a client that feels validated and heard is crucial for therapeutic gains. With a background in cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), I utilize evidence-based CBT techniques to help promote positive healing and change. My personal goal is to create a safe and supportive environment where clients can enhance their growth and emotional well-being. I consider it a privilege to embark on this journey towards self-discovery together.
