Psychotherapist
TX
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and have also earned a PhD in Psychology. I have a rewarding career working with seniors and have also worked with a range of other demographics including individuals with disabilities, youth and adolescents, and individuals impacted by the trauma of natural disasters. In my practice, I focus on evidence-based techniques such as cognitive behavioral therapy and solutions focused therapy in order to help my clients discover their resilience and maximize the quality of life. One of my favorite quotes is “It’s your reaction to adversity, not adversity itself that determines how your life’s story will develop,” by Dieter F. Uchtdorf. I like this quote because it emphasizes that we can all choose how we respond to a situation, and that choice is ours alone to make. Since graduating from University of Southern California School of Social Work, I have been working in various aspects of social work practice including clinical settings serving seniors and individuals with disabilities. I have used evidence-based techniques including cognitive behavioral therapy and trauma-informed treatment modalities during the course of my work. I am honored to have also served in various leadership capacities and have vast experience in non-profit social services settings. I am licensed as a clinical social worker in the state of Texas. In addition to my social work licensure, I have earned my doctoral degree in Psychology and participated on research teams at University of Texas exploring health disparities and other issues impacting vulnerable communities. Earlier in my practice, I earned a leadership award from the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors for my work with seniors and people with disabilities. For the past two years, I have led a team of social workers during the Covid 19 response. For this work, I was recognized for my leadership, earning an award from the Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD.
