Getting to know Vanessa Allen
Vanessa earned her Master’s in Social Work from Loyola University Chicago and holds a doctorate degree in Counseling Psychology. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with more than 25 years of experience providing direct services in the social services community. Her work includes Case Management, Counseling, Supervision, and most recently, serving as the Executive Director for a grassroots social service organization on the North Shore. The field of mental health and the wellness of people has always been a primary focus of Vanessa’s practice. She is a seasoned professional who is culturally competent and experienced in working with individuals from many different walks of life.
What should a new client know about working with you?
I want to create an environment that is welcoming and inclusive. Everyone comes to therapy with different values, strengths, and backgrounds unique to them, my goal is to utilize these qualities to create a client centered approach to treatment.
