Welcome! I am Vanessa Ford, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Southern Indiana. I bring 20 years of therapy and mental health experience, primarily in community mental health settings, providing therapy to adults and children, as well as treating adolescents in school environments. My educational and training experiences also include work in inpatient units, ERs, nursing homes, and a state residential facility for children. Clients often tell me my strengths lie in creating a comfortable, non-judgmental space where they feel safe to open up. I believe therapy should be a rewarding process that leaves you with hope after each session. I offer individual, group, and family therapy, and together we will get real and have some fun on this journey. My professional experience spans a wide range of conditions and age groups. Whether you are dealing with depression, anxiety, trauma, mood disorders, ADHD, ODD, or Disruptive Behavior Disorder, I am here to help. We will work together using evidence-based practices such as CBT, EMDR, DBT, solution-focused therapy, and mindfulness-based cognitive therapy. I am ready to truly listen to your concerns and share my bag of therapy tools to help you live your best life. Will every day be perfect? Absolutely not! But during our sessions, you will gain new skills, hope, and confidence to face even the toughest days. When we choose to improve our personal lives, it often positively impacts those around us. Let’s get started!

What should a new client know about working with you?

During our first session, we will get a chance to know each other and review guidelines for the therapy process. I will lead you through the psychosocial assessment and make this a comfortable experience. I have been doing this for years and know that the first session can be scary. It is my job to make this a comfortable experience for you. We will develop a treatment plan together to make sure we are on the same page with your goals for therapy. Once we establish the plan we will set up regular sessions together. During each session we will review progress and target your concerns. By the time you are finished with therapy, you will have a good foundation of therapy tools and better insight on how to function at your personal best.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
