Getting to know Vanessa Latorre

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 15 years' experience counseling individuals of all age ranges. I earned my Master’s in Social Work from Florida International University. Throughout my career, I’ve worked in a variety of settings including hospitals, nursing homes, residential addiction treatment centers, and crisis stabilization with children and families across public, private, and voluntary sectors. I also worked abroad in the UK for two years, gaining meaningful experience working with diverse cultures. I am bilingual in English and Spanish and recognize the importance of cultural awareness in therapy. I currently live in Florida with my husband and our dog, Charlie Blue. Additionally, I serve as an Adjunct Professor at Virginia Commonwealth University, assisting social work graduate students in translating theory into practice. I have always been drawn to humanistic models of therapy that focus on a collaborative relationship based on real interactions and unconditional positive regard. I believe that my relationships with clients can be healing and that effective interventions start with a genuine human connection. I look forward to hearing from you!
